Remember the most abrupt dress down day on January 31, 2025? It’s okay if you don’t. The dress down was to raise money for the Los Angeles fires. Students dressed up and in this way money was donated
Now to be more precise, the LA Fire flared up on January 7th, 2025 in the east of Malibu, LA. Just like a brush fire, it spread across 23,488 acres by wind-failed power lines, and the amount of dryness due to the climate change. Even though Los Angeles has a lot of wildfires, this was an extreme case as excessive winds spread the fires quickly making it impossible to put out.
The area that got the most fire was Pacific Palisades which is a Los Angeles neighborhood on the east side of Malibu. This was caused by many things throughout the examination such as climate change and failure of power lines.
The casualties were excessive due to the amount of houses lost. There were more than 10,000 houses lost being burned up due to the fire. Furthermore, there were 29 people who have passed away in the incident of the LA brush fire.
However, there is hope because there are multiple fundraisers operating raising over $250 million. LA is recovering to cover up the damage caused and to become its popular self again.
