6th and 7th Grade Field Trip to the Bronx Zoo
The sixth and seventh graders had their recent field trip on March 20th to the Bronx Zoo. As a sixth grader myself, I would like to share what happened during the day!
How was the Field Trip Set up?
Since we had about 75 students going on the field trip, we needed to split up into different groups with our teachers. There were 6 groups and some of the teachers that went were Ms. Anquillano, Ms. Vankat, and Ms. Wezenter. Even though we were supposed to be “split up”, some of the groups formed one big group. These “big groups” contained 3 groups each and what these groups would do is follow each other around and stick together. We also had two buses so you can imagine how loud the ride to the zoo was.
What Animals Did You See?
I saw a bunch of animals such as giraffes, red pandas, a lot of peacocks, gorillas, rats, fishes, a capybara, an owl, and a monkey. It was really fun especially when we saw the gorillas fighting, I never thought I would ever see that! Other groups saw a camel which I really wanted to see but at least I saw some giraffes.
Other Stuff
We had to return to our last period class when arriving back at the school and luckily mine was Spanish because I could play games! Also, everything was so overpriced at the store there, I saw some bracelets and a pack of two were worth $10! That’s insane! I can just go home and make the same exact bracelets with my bead kit for the extremely cheap price of $0! There were vending machines too and a lot of people bought from the “Dippin’ Dots” one. Overall, the field trip was very good but I didn’t get any money so that made me upset because I really wanted to buy a plushie.
