NJSLA Testing: What Should Teachers Do To Help?
Overview
NJSLA stands for New Jersey Student Learning Assessment. It’s where students take multiple tests that consist of ELA and Mathematics. Students have to take the NJSLA-Science assessments only if they’re in 5th grade, 8th grade, and 11th grade. The NJSLA-ELA shows the student’s skill on reading comprehension and writing in their respective grade level. The NJSLA-Math shows how capable a student is of mathematical reasoning and completing math problems for their grade level. The NJSLA-Science shows how well a student does in science.
What Our ELA Teachers Should Do To Help
ELA teachers should help us at most a month’s advance for NJSLA-ELA. I know that in the NJSLA-ELA, there will be many reading comprehension questions and an essay or two to write. ELA teachers should assign students an essay on a NJSLA prompt so they can understand how to successfully write an essay for NJSLA-ELA. Additionally, they should give us practice ELA questions that might be on the NJSLA.
What Our Math Teachers Should Do To Help
Math teachers should also help us at most a month’s advance and for Do-Nows, it should be NJSLA-Math type problems. Additionally, they should assign us practice quizzes that are similar to the NJSLA-Math so we can be prepared. I also know that there will be explanation questions so Math teachers should assign us those.
What Our Science Teachers Should Do To Help
Same with ELA and Math, Science teachers should help us at most a month’s advance. They should assign us study guides and practice quizzes so that we can pass the NJSLA-Science. Additionally, they should give us NJSLA-Science type problems for Do-Nows and assign them for homework.
What Our Other Teachers Should Do To Help
- Social Studies Teachers: They should stick to the curriculum but not give us a lot of projects, tests, or quizzes to stress us out.
- Language Teachers: They shouldn’t be assigning us a lot of work or have us sing songs for a test/quiz/project grade, this will stress us out.
- Specialist Teachers: Mr. Bonora and Mr. Mondi should give us at least two days of free gym when we have them during NJSLA testing. Mr. Singer should give us at least one day worth of Poison Rhythm so we can feel happy. Ms. Pacheco should give us at least one day worth of painting/drawing whatever you like to clear up our minds.
