SaveDrop: It only takes…10,000 People
Recently, I stumbled down a rabbit hole (meaning my friend told me) about a relatively small but earnest organization called Save Drop, whose goal was to save water in a… particular way. Intrigued, I ventured even further and found that their main goal was to sign a massive petition of 10,000 signatures that would make it so that a recirculation pump would be a mandatory requirement in every new building constructed in the district, providing tax breaks for those who do reside in those buildings. So what even is a recirculation pump, you may ask? That is what I’ll be discussing in this article, and how YOU can contribute to our mission.
Save drop is basically an organization that looks to save water through the installation of recirculation pumps in every new building made in the district. Basically, a recirculation pump is a device that makes your bathing water straight to a warm temperature, which saves over 20,000 gallons a year. Since almost all of us wait for 30 seconds for warm water to come on, all the water wasted going down the drain is saved.
But it isn’t easy trying to get people to do something. We needed something that would make an impact…a BIG impact. A minimum of 10,000 signatures for the government to even consider it. So that’s what we have been doing. Going around trying to get signatures wherever we can. I myself have already been in some projects, and even though we may seem far from 10,000 signatures, just like every vote, every signature matters.
